How credits work
How credits and rewards work on BarCloud — expiry, deductions, and what you see on the dashboard.
Do rewards and credits expire?
Reward credits and credit packs without an end date do not expire. They stay on your account until you use them. If a pack has an end date, that date is shown in Usage history.
How are scans deducted?
Each successful barcode lookup uses 1 credit from your balance. Failed lookups that do not return a product charge are handled by your API rules — successful scans always cost one credit.
Which credits are used first?
We use expiring credits first (the soonest end date). Credits with no expiry are used only after those. If nothing expires, we use the oldest pack first.
What are non-expiry vs expiry credits on the dashboard?
Non-expiry is your lasting balance. Expiry is time-limited packs. Total is both combined — or unlimited (∞) if you have an unlimited plan.
What are reward credits?
Reward credits come from promo codes and approved contributions. Redeem a promo from Dashboard → Rewards.
What if I run out?
Lookups that need a credit will fail until you add credits or redeem a promo. Unlimited plans are not limited by count.
